Yoga cultivating compassion within

Yoga is a practice done for the benefit of ones self. B.K.S. Iyengar says it so beautifully

‚ÄúThe essence of yoga is not about external display but internal cultivation.‚ÄĚ

We begin where we are without any expectations and experience the wonderful journey of Yoga. We rediscover that inner peace that seems to have eluded us for such along time. Yoga reminds us to live in the present moment, we reconnect with our body and the brain becomes a witness. So often our minds are bombarded with thoughts of the past or future that we forget that the only moment we are truly alive is now, the present. Why not enjoy it? We seem to miss the beauty of life all around us each and every day. Once we begin to reconnect with the present, the stress and worries in our lives become less of a burden to carry.  We realize that this stress is created by our own perceptions based on past experiences. We never experienced stress as a child, so why must we experience it now. We discover that we no longer need to allow this stress to control our lives, our happiness. Yoga teaches us simple ways to let go of that stress and those worries. Yoga allows us to reconnect with who we truly are, human beings whose birthright is to be happy, living life in the present. Once we reconnect within, we feel more open, more alive, more compassionate and realize that we don’t need to allow stress to control us any longer. The universe is a wonderful place once we can get out of our heads and experience life in this moment. Each experience is unique unto itself and when we stop comparing it to the past we find joy in every moment of our lives. Rediscover this joy, rediscover happiness in every second of your life. Rediscover who you truly are. You will find that our purpose in life is to love and share compassion with every soul on this Earth unconditionally. Compassion starts within ourselves, once we have it within, we can then genuinly share it with others. I end with this quote from Alan Alda

“You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you will discover will be wonderful. What you will discover is yourself.”

Shantibliss, may we all experience peace, joy, love and light……….Namaste
